BurstNET® GREEN POWER/OPERATIONS INITIATIVE
April 9, 2009 - Scranton, PA - BurstNET Technologies, Inc™ (http://www.burst.net/green/),
the largest web hosting and co-location provider in the Northeast Pennsylvania region,
announced its purchase of renewable wind energy certificates from Community Energy, Inc. (CEI)
to match 100% of the company’s electricity needs. This Green-e® Energy certified product
is sourced from a mixture of local Pennsylvania wind power from the Waymart Wind Farm, and other
wind farms throughout the United States---and is delivered to the regional and national power grids on
behalf of BurstNET®. By purchasing five million kWh of wind power, BurstNET will offset the
release of approximately 3,591 metric tons (7,916,400 lbs) of carbon dioxide (CO2) from entering the atmosphere,
a harmful greenhouse gas that is linked to global warming. That is estimated to be the equivalent of removing
650 vehicles from the road for a year, saving 400,000 gallons of gasoline, or powering 500 homes for one year
according to the U.S. EPA's Green Power Equivalency Calculator.

BurstNET has recently joined the EPA’s Green Power
Partnership Program. The Green Power Partnership is a
voluntary program that encourages organizations to buy green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts
associated with purchased electricity use. The Partnership currently has hundreds of Partner organizations voluntarily
purchasing billions of kilowatt-hours of green power annually. BurstNET qualifies as a Leadership Club member in the
Partnership, due to the 100% renewable power commitment. "America is shifting to a 'green culture', with more and
more businesses taking important steps to combat climate change," said Kathleen Hogan, Director of the Climate
Protection Partnerships Division at the EPA. "EPA commends BurstNET for making a long-term commitment to protecting
the environment by purchasing green power."
The purchase by BurstNET is certified by Green-e®, the leading renewable energy certification and
verification program in the U.S. The program provides independent, third-party certification to ensure
certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards, including ensuring
renewable energy is sourced from verified, new facilities; not double-counted towards any state's renewable
energy goal; and retired on behalf of the purchaser. By joining Green-e Marketplace, BurstNET is submitting to
auditing procedures that verify the organization's purchase, allowing them to use the Green-e® logo.
"The Center for Resource Solutions is pleased that BurstNET has committed to purchase certified renewable energy
to match 100% of its electricity use," said Justin Roth, Green-e Marketplace program analyst. "BurstNET is leading
the way to provide certified hosting services that replace conventional electricity by voluntarily purchasing
certified renewable energy".

BurstNET is committed to being an industry leader in environmental responsibility, and the recent wind power
commitment is a natural step in furthering the company's goals. In addition to the purchase of 100% renewable
energy certificates, BurstNET is actively involved in environmental initiatives including energy usage reduction
and recycling. These initiatives have already reduced BurstNET's electricity consumption by an estimated 13%,
with additional reduction currently being implemented. “We found it important to step up as a leader in our industry,
and to do our part for the environment. We are proud to say that we are 100% powered by the wind, and one of the
first data centers globally to do so. This purchase, along with other eco-friendly business practices,
demonstrates our continued commitment to protecting the environment,” stated BurstNET CEO Shawn M. Arcus.

BurstNET® GREEN ENERGY-EFFICIENT DEDICATED SERVERS
|
Utilizing 80 PLUS®,
RoHS, &
Energy Star® compliant/certified components, the BurstNET®
Green Energy-Efficient Dedicated Server product line
uses less energy and helps protect the environment. As processors become increasingly powerful, software becomes more
demanding, & more and more diskspace is required, the costs of running a server are rising rapidly. When building a
server, it’s important to consider not just the energy it uses, but the efficiency
with which it runs. Conserving energy is important for us at BurstNET, and therefore we have done extensive testing
to find components that utilize the least power and are the most energy efficient.
Most current power supplies (PSUs) are only 60 to 70 percent
efficient, wasting up to 30 to 40 percent of the energy they consume, 80 PLUS®
certified PSUs have been tested and guaranteed to operate at 80 or more percent
efficiency; an 80 PLUS® compliant PSU can save 21 percent of total electricity
use across all modes of operation--quite beneficial for the environment. Utilizing 80 PLUS® certified PSUs
is just one savings component of the
BurstNET Green Energy-Efficient Dedicated Server product line.
